Lots of autumn adventures await!

🍂 A Mini-Guide to Autumn Adventures
Autumn in Vermont is a feast for the senses, and Stone City makes the perfect home base for exploring it all. A few of our favorite seasonal outings:
- Walk from Stone City to Nichols Ledge
Just out our door is one of the most spectacular views in the area (see the pic above). The trail to Nichols Ledge winds through forest and rewards you with a stunning cliff-top overlook of Nichols Pond and the surrounding hills blanketed in fall color. - Apple Picking (and more!) at Burtt’s Orchard (Cabot)
Stroll through rows of trees heavy with apples, sip fresh cider, and treat yourself to their famous cider doughnuts. From there, head up the hill to the picturesque Foster Covered Bridge at Cabot Plains—a true Vermont postcard view. - Hardwick Farmers’ Market
Every Friday from 3–6 pm at Atkins Field, browse local produce, baked goods, crafts, and live music. It’s a fun, community-minded way to taste Vermont’s harvest season. - Smugglers’ Notch Scenic Drive (Stowe)
If you’re up for a bit more adventure, drive up into Smugglers’ Notch near Stowe. The winding road through dramatic rock formations and brilliant foliage is unforgettable.
These are just a few highlights—find even more ideas on our Local Guide to the Hardwick Area and Northern Vermont. Whether you spend your days hiking, exploring small towns, or simply relaxing in a hammock as the leaves drift down, we hope you’ll feel the magic of Vermont in autumn.
